History Of Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan also known as MJ,or as air Jordan.Was born in Brookln, New York on Februrary,17 1963. In his early years Micheal became interested in sports, but it was baseball not basketball. He would play catch in the yard with his father, who loved baseball. He soon started to play basketball to try and follow his older brothers (Larry) footsteps.

In the 1984 NBA draft, he was the third overall pick by the Chicago Bulls. As a rookie Micheal made an immedaite impact, averaging 28.2 points per game, including 6 games when he scored 40+ points. He was selected to the NBA allstar game, and was named Rookie of the Year. In the upcoming years Micheal would go on to win 6 NBA championships, 5 regular season MVP awards, 6 NBA finals MVP awards, and a defensive player of the year award.

In 1993, tradegy struck Micheals perfect life. On July 23, his father, James, was murdered off Interstate 95 in North Carolina. Two people had robbed him, and shot him in the chest and threw his body in the swamp. Three mounths later on October 6, 1993, following a run of three consecutive NBA championships, Jordan announced his retirement from basketball citing that "he no longer had the desire to play."

In the early 1994, Micheal decided to take up a new hobby. However it was baseball. Despite not playing baseball since highschool, Micheal played an inspectacular season for the Doulbe A Birmingham Barons. On March 18, 1995, Jordan the man of few words since his retirement sent a message 2 important words to the media :"I'm Back". He celebrated his return to the NBA by doing what he does best: winning. He would go on to lead the Bulls to 3 more consecutive NBA championships, and his place in the history as the "NBA's greatest player off all-time".

On January 13, 1999, Jordan re-announced his retirement saying "I'm 99.9 percent sure that I will never play again. He became the owner of the Washington Wizards. Near the begining of the 2001-02 season. There were hints that Micheal might try another comeback to the NBA. On  September  25, 2001, Micheal confirmed those rumors, announcing that he would once again return to the NBA as a member of the Wizards. His statistics were solid  and he showed  some flashes of his old self but he could not lead the Wizards to the playoffs and missed several games due to injury. He retired for good following the 2002-03 season and was dismissed as the president of the Washington Wizards.
